Mir Javid, Vice President, Program and Capacity Building – Central Asia, and Middle East

Mir Javid academic background includes a Master’s degree in Public Policy from University of Oxford (UK), a Master’s degree in Economic and Social Studies in Development Management from University of Wales (UK), a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Kabul University (Afghanistan), and a Postgraduate Diploma in Management Studies from University of Kent (UK). He undertook a year of study towards a PhD at the University of York (UK) but was unable to complete the degree due to returning to Kabul to take up a position with the UNDP/Government of Afghanistan. He is fluent in Dari/Farsi and English, both oral and written.

His particular areas of expertise are design and management of programs and projects, monitoring and evaluation, policy analysis, report writing, and strategic planning. He has more than 15 years of managerial experience in Afghanistan, Pakistan, and UK, much of which at senior project management positions.
